Fire Chief - Brian Hagan

Gloucester City Fire Chief, Brian Hagan, began his career in the fire service in August 1977.  He was born, raised and educated in Gloucester City. Much of his life was surrounded by the fire service.  His father retired from the department in 1989 after a 32 year career.  His Grandfather was a volunteer Chief Officer for many years at the Nicholson Road Station.

The beginning of Chief’s Hagan’s career was in a volunteer capacity serving as a Firefighter, Company officer and later a Chief Officer.  In July 1991, he was hired as a career Firefighter and again worked his way through the ranks.  He was appointed as Chief in March 2006.     

 Since becoming fire chief for Gloucester City, Chief Hagan has guided the department through many changes. Under his direction, the department has undergone a major transformation to redistribute personnel and equipment to meet the changing needs of the community and the fire department.  The department continues to evolve and is currently working on new standard operating procedures.  The safety of our members and the community continues to be the top priority of the department.
