The fire department encourages this and would like to attend your meetings.  You can call the fire department administration office at (856) 456-2652 or submit a request by e-mail and  we will schedule a meeting at your convenience.

The Gloucester City Fire Department is a full service fire department.  This full service allows us to dispatch a fire truck when our ambulance is busy.  Our Firefighters are EMT trained and can provide Basic Life Support care until we receive mutual aid from a surrounding community or our ambulance arrives on scene. 

If you need smoke alarms and cannot afford to buy them or just need help installing them you can call fire headquarters at our business number (856) 456-0060 and we will assist you free of cost. Do Not Call This Number for Emergencies!  Use 911

Replace the batteries in your smoke alarm twice a year. The Gloucester City Fire Department recommends you do this when you change our clocks in the fall and spring. Install a new battery immediately if an alarm “chirps” to indicate a low battery.

IF A FIRE BREAKS OUT in your home, you have to   get out fast. Prepare for a fire emergency by sitting down with your family and agreeing on an escape plan. Be sure that everyone knows at least two unobstructed exits - doors and windows - from every room. (If you live in an apartment building, do not include elevators in your escape plan.) Decide on a meeting place outside where everyone will meet after they escape. Have your entire household practice your escape plan at least twice a year.
